FIFA Talks with Hathi : Ep. 10- Matchday Ten.

Match 1: Belgium Vs Tunisia

What an incredible game – the highest-scoring so far – in which Belgium showed their quality and attacking prowess, and could easily have scored more!

Belgium has all but assured itself a spot in the World Cup round of 16 after pounding Tunisia 5-2. After starting slowly in a 3-0 win over Panama, Belgium got off to an incredibly fast start, scoring three times in the first half. Romelu Lukaku and Eden Hazard each netted a brace, with Lukaku moving into a tie on the top scorer leaderboard with Cristiano Ronaldo. In a game that featured scores from the sixth minute until the final moments, Tunisia simply could not keep up with Belgium, which won, 5-2, and will advance to the round of 16 should England draw with or defeat Panama on Sunday.  In Dominating these two teams, Belgium has showed us that it can be one of our favorites this year to at least reach the quarter Finals easily.

Belgium would have easily had scored 7 goals today if Batshuayi had managed to convert all his chances into a goal.

As for Tunisia, it is on the brink of elimination. The defeat means Tunisia, who have not won in the World Cup since 1978, a run of 13 games will exit the tournament if England picks up a point on Sunday against Panama.

Belgium are now unbeaten over their last 21 matches. So far, only Belgium and Croatia look the real deal to win this world cup.

Man of the Match: Romelu Lukaku failed to control the ball and took a tumble inside the box under the challenge of Farouk. But got up. Approached the referee to let him know it was not a foul. THIS IS JOGA BONITO NEYMAR, Learn.

Match 2: South Korea vs Mexico

Mexico continued to impress at the 2018 World Cup, winning its second game of the tournament on Saturday by beating South Korea 2-1. El Tri looked dominant at times and had a two-goal lead before a late goal from the Asian nation made the final score closer than the actual match was.

Carlos Vela scored in the first half on a penalty kick and Javier Hernandez doubled the score with a fine finish in the second half, as El Tri built off the win over Germany with another crucial victory that puts them a step closer to the round of 16.

A handball in the box resulted in the first goal 26 minutes in, with Vela finishing calmly from the spot.

Mexico must secure a point in their final group stage match against Sweden to ensure they reach the last 16 for a seventh straight World Cup. South Korea in frustration committed a total of 24 fouls and received 4 yellow cars. Whereas El Tri just had 7 on their ledger.

Match 3: Germany vs Sweden

Germany won but barely. They Survived but very closely. They’ve done it. What a night.

Germany wins, 2-1, and they’re out here bumping chests like wrestlers. Or gladiators. Or linebackers. But mostly, like winners. With 10 men game and elimination sitting just right there with them, they produced magic

The Swedes are just devastated, sitting on the turf where they dropped. They can’t believe what’s just happened either.

Germany restored its 2018 World Cup hopes with one swing of Toni Kroos’s right foot snatched a 2-1 victory over Sweden from the jaws of a draw that would have felt very much like a defeat.

The German Shots came from the left and the right but with no hope but they found a way to survive. With Kroos’s goal, on a finely orchestrated free-kick play, giving it a vital three points in its four-team group. Germany is now even with Sweden and three points behind Mexico. A victory in its final group game, against winless South Korea, would put it in a very solid position to advance. A draw against Sweden would have kept Germany’s chances to advance alive but would have made things far more precarious.

The goal, and the victory, completely altered the dynamic at this World Cup for the Germans, who raced to Kroos at the corner flag and smothered him with a mix of joy and relief. A listless loss to Mexico in its opener had left Germany in an uncomfortable position when it took the field at Fisht Stadium: It understood that a defeat against the Swedes, who had won their first game, would guarantee that Germany, the defending champion, would somehow be out of the World Cup after the first round.

Each and every Madridista would be so proud. Ronaldo for Portugal, Toni Kroos for Germany and Modric for Croatia. All were top class.

Over 90 minutes, the German strategy seemed rather simple: Push the ball up the center or the wing, slot it wide, cross it back in and crash the net. If the Swedes cleared, the cycle would start all over: Collect the clearance out top, move the ball wide, cross it in. Even after Sweden took the 1-0 lead, the Germans just resumed their attack. Crosses, shots and more chances. Rinse and repeat.

Man of the Match- That curl though by the amazing Toni Kroos.
